About Uruthy Movie

Synopsis
Lately everything in Ram’s life is going wrong. He has just lost his mother back home. He doesn’t have a job. He is struggling to keep up with the fast life in Canada. He doesn’t have anyone to turn to. He has totally alienated himself from the rest of the world by locking himself in his filthy apartment. Lenin this is amazing!
loved everything: script, pictures, the small "post-it" on the main picture of the page, the web-site (so complete!!!)...
cannot wait to see the movie and add it to my collection... btw, the only other director whose movies I am collecting is Pedro Almodovar :-)

Great trailer! It's about time someone did a movie that actually tackles at the heart of a serious problem that many have labeled as taboo and swept it under the rug for far too long. I applaud you for taking a bold step in pulling the curtains off this topic. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie!!

Hi Lenin and group. I just had a chance to view your movie on TVI and wanted to drop in a note to say - an excellent movie... well done. You have touched up on a topic that is alarmingly increasing now days especially within the Tamil community. Usually such topics are discussed from a woman's point of view, your coverage from a different angle is sure to touch a lot of lives. Kudos to your hero. He has done an excellent job!

Looking forwarding to seeing more of your work as well as Mr. Mahalingam's.

Well done my kids. I'm very proud of our boys and girls finally making and acting in meaningful movies. This movie should be watched by all expats. Specially the younger kids and thier families. We don't talk about these issues in our families. Doctors like Dr.Nirmala should step up to help our community. Our community's greatest strength is our unity. Our greatest weakness is ignorance. Let's help each other. Best wishes from an old teacher.

18 of us saw this on TVI in the Bay Area in California. and the general impression is that we were all very sad at the end of this movie. this is a serious topic and glad to see some light being shed on this by local directors. suicide rate among Tamil teens have gone up recently and we all need to pay attention. good job bringing a hard topic up in a powerful way.

Thanks for taking your time to produce this one-of-a-kind movie.
What a neatly etched screenplay, one finely defined character and a flow of scenes that keep on the edge of your seat, and emotions strewn throughout the movie. Director Lenin M. Sivam weaves an engaging tale that leaves you with a feeling of warmth, satisfaction and appreciation for bringing our suppressed realistic truth within our community. Lead character’s emotional performance and director’s take on the problem of depression gives this short film a true and an important value to our community.

Congratulations!. A job well done, and good luck with your future movies.

Lenin,

An excellent job. I liked the lead's performance and the script a lot. You've made your point very well. Thank you for increasing awareness of mental health issues in our community and reducing the stigma associated with depression.

Wow... I live on the west coast now and don't have TVI. I've yet to see this film, but judging by the short summary, the preview, and the comments... this is truly a break through for the Toronto Tamil film industry. I'm excited and speechless. I'd love to keep up to date with your work... hopefully you'll have a mailing list setup.
